FROM THE ARTICLE
Todd Howard can be called a pioneer at the forefront of RPG design. Some consider his games to be a throwback to an earlier age, when RPGs consisted of entire worlds and offered limitless opportunities for exploration, characterization, and adventure. In Morrowind, Bethesda has crafted such a living-breathing world, one that Howard calls a “Massively Single-Player Game.”

Morrowind has been getting rave reviews and is selling extremely well, and has even crossed over onto the Xbox console. Will the quintessential PC RPG experience appeal to console gamers? “Yes,” Todd adamantly proclaimed on a recent phone call. In this interview we chatted about game design, Todd’s contribution to the FPS community, Morrowind, Morrowind for the Xbox, and Morrowind’s future.
