FROM THE ARTICLE
When the social history of our time comes to be written, it is altogether likely that a place in it will be reserved for William A. Higinbotham of Bellport. That’s because, as nearly as can be determined, Mr. Higinbotham is the inventor of the video game. Lawyers involved in patent suits and editors of computer publications have conducted searches, and there seems to be no one who preceded Mr. Higinbotham and the tennis game he conceived in 1958.
